David Fanaroff found Spectrum Foods to fill a niche in the market, starting with one employee, one van, and an office in his garage. He soon opened a warehouse in the Florida Avenue Wholesale Market, initially serving poultry to Washington, D.C. restaurants.
Spectrum Foods expanded beyond poultry, adding a variety of restaurant-related products. The company moved into a larger warehouse in Hyattsville, MD, growing to approximately 10 trucks and 40 employees.
Spectrum Foods moves to their current warehouse in Landover, MD operating out of 55,000 sq. ft.
Josh Fanaroff joins the company.
Alec Fanaroff joins the company.
Resnick Poultry joins Spectrum Foods further expanding the company’s presence in Baltimore and north.
Olympus Foods becomes a part of Spectrum Foods, further expanding the company’s offering into Greek cuisine.

Still located in a 55,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Landover, MD, Spectrum Foods has over 100 employees, 36 trucks, and makes over 300 deliveries daily. Despite its significant growth, the company remains committed to its core values and long-standing customers.
